Each session offers a variety of age-appropriate outdoor activities focused on helping to care for the site, learning about nature in the park and our wildlife pond, and creative mark-making using natural and everyday materials.
Children also have access to mud kitchens, water play, and a range of outdoor play equipment.
Activities are seasonal and designed to build confidence and early skills through hands-on outdoor play.
As sessions take place outdoors in all weathers, children should wear weather-appropriate clothing. This includes a waterproof coat and trousers, wellies or sturdy shoes, and spare clothes just in case. We believe there is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing.
Children remain the responsibility of their parent or carer at all times. Activities are risk-assessed and led by trained forest school practitioners, creating a safe and supportive environment for exploration and play.
Sessions take place every Thursday from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Kenning Park, Clay Cross, S45 9AR.
While walk-ins are welcome, booking is highly recommended.
The cost is £2.50 per child, with additional children charged at £1 each. An optional lunch is available for £1.
Little Bugs is a dairy-free zone, and all food provided, including the optional lunch and marshmallows, is vegan. Free hot drinks are provided for adults.
